DECO2606 - Real-Time 3D Multimedia
Andrew Vande Moere | The Key Centre of Design Computing & Cognition | The University of Sydney

description
this course introduces students with basic computer graphics aspects through the development of a demoscene application that is assessed upon its aesthetics as well as the use of efficient & recursive programming techniques. students design and implement a data-driven 3D real-time demoscene that is both informative and enjoyable, and is completely driven by external data. each execution is different, depending on alterations within the chosen datasets.
objectives
- introduce the principles of real-time 3D multimedia production & authoring.
- introduce contemporary computer graphics applications, techniques & research directions.
- introduce real-time 3D issues in the context of virtual reality technology, game development & human-computer interaction.
- introduce efficient 3D effects, simulation & rule-based behavior modeling.
